Creperia Degrau
Friday, November 3rd, 2006Creperia Degrau, open since 1972, is the oldest Creperia in Brazil. Located in Canto dos Araçás (Lagoa da Conceição) it is housed in a 19th century “Casarão” (old Azorean style house) what makes it a unique place to eat and drink. I have been curious every time I passed in front of it and finally I had the opportunity to check it out inside, in company of my wife. The place has a dimly lit interior, wooden furniture, portraits of Rock Stars and beer logos (the decor reminds me of a PUB). The eclectic rock music that played all night reinforced my impression.
The name says it all: it sells mainly crêpes but you can also find some other appetizers. You have the option to choose the type of wheat you want (whole meal, rice, spinach, corn, etc) and the diverse menu includes a great variety of fillings (cheese, meat, chicken, shrimp, broccolis, tuna many more). Beers are also a highlight for it sells national and imported brands
We started with a delightful crêpe of crab (crab meat, dendê oil and herbs) and also a margherita (tomato, mozzarella, basil). For dessert we had crêpe with ice cream filling, just delicious! We had 3 crepes and 6 bottleneck beers of Eisenbahn, a brand produced in Blumenau. The total cost was R$ 54, 00 for two including the optional service tax.
After spending an enjoyable evening we were sad for our time to come to an end — but we’re eager to see what this wonderful spot has to offer for our next visit.
