Beira mar avenue

Very few times I crossed the Lagoa hill to spend some time at the most popular leisure ground for people who live in Florianópolis, but today was a beautiful day and because I had to do something at the city centre, on the way back, I decided to spend a little time on Beira Mar avenue watching the beautiful views of the northern bay.

If you like walking, running, cycling or just sitting and watching the Florianópolis urban’s scene, Beira Mar is the place for you. In one side you have a traffic busy avenue and high buildings and on the other side you have great views and small beaches. Some people like to compare it with Rio´s Copacabana beach sidewalk, and in essence it might be right but in Beira Mar you feel a lot more safe and it is not as touristy as Copacabana.

Real estate is very expensive on the Beira Mar water front buildings therefore it is a high middle class area quite different form other parts of the island. For real Floripa terms, it is a different world.

Wel, it is nice, social and pretty but honestly I still prefer the feeling I get from the other side of the island.
