Flowers
Sunday, November 15th, 2009This year spring hasn’t been as wet as last year season. The forecasts had pointed substantial rainfall that could bring flood and landslides, however it is noticeable that the rain has been normally distributed along the days. In fact, some days have been so hot that makes you think you’re already in summer.
As you go around the streets it is easy to spot blooming trees, a sign that spring is on.
Some flowers are quite beautiful especially when it is making a composition with the tree and surroundings. On the hills you can also see the native forest with a nice flowering. According to the city hall, Floripa has approximately 42 % of preservation areas so it is a lot of green, but it hasn’t adopted a flower viewing custom like it happens in Japan with the cherry blossom.
For me it is not a matter of just look at the beauty of flowers, but to appreciate the sign of nature change.
“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.”
- Claude Monet
