running

Running is a powerful thing. The image of a runner denotes persistence and force, among many other things. I believe it also denotes a feelling of capture and change.
Since childhood I am passionate about running and whenever I have time I go for it. The simplicity of this sport goes deep in my nature. You don’t need especial equipment, a perfect weather condition or paying a monthly feel on a gym. You just need the will to start.
Running on the beach is powerful. The sand path, the sea and all other elements combine to make up a unique experience. Living the present moment with your mind and body connected.
The sound of the sea and the colors of a setting sun are a perfect composition for my imaginary painting. I run for leisure but also for a change, going towards my goal and leaving behind something old.
Life is a book and we should expect a chapter will end and a new one will start. Sometimes you don’t want to change but it will happen even against your will. The change might be difficult but you can always turn it into something good for you. If life gives you a lemon make a lemonade.

airborne

After 1 and a half year I finally took a chance to spread my canopy and take off at my beloved flying site: Mole beach, more specifically on Galheta hill. Living far from this site forced me to start flying in Brava beach instead, but I never forget the magic moments I have had there and I have been always willing to come back.
Conditions weren’t perfect but good enough get a lift along with local vultures. Just a window on the weather and a bit of lucky can make wonders on this wondeful Sunday.

Shelter in cold winter

skate rink

It’s been a tough winter. Since 1918 it hasn’t been snowing in Buenos Aires like it did on last Monday and I was expecting this cold air mass would hit hard south Brazil. It is cold and wet these days and it could be very boring if you are a visitor to Florianopolis, a very different scene of what you get in summer. But there are now some ways to scape boredom in a warm Shopping Center. I say now because until recently Beira Shopping Center was the only one in town. It doesn’t offer much and speaking of movie theathers it is very poor.
Honestly I am not a big fan of shopping centers and there has been a lot of ambiental issues involved in the construction of the newest ones, Floripa and Iguatemi. However it became an alternative for entertainment when the weather doesn’t help and especially because Florianopolis finally gained big and comfortable movie theathers showing the lastest movies for a longer period.

Floripa Shopping is a good one. Usually not too crowded, it has a good food court ( Chinese, Italian, Pizza, Baked Potatos, Subway, etc ) and from time to time It has exibitions of various themes. The interior is also nice with some cafes in the middle so you can have a drink while watching around. This winter it also has an ice skating rink.

If the day is cold and rainy it is certainly a good place to spend your day eating a good and fast meal, watching a great movie, do some shopping and have a nice coffee and dessert . The shopping is located next to road SC 401.

Surely the shopping centers have ben contructed under suspicious ambiental permits. In the lastest police investigation “Moeda verde” peolple involved were arrested. But it is diffcult to think of putting so big constructions down at this time and the people who did it know about it.
A solution would be making those responsible to invest on preservation continuously, as a sentence for life. Hard to think about it in a country of impunity.
