Beach day
Saturday, February 18th, 2006
The southern wind has being clearing the sea making great conditions for diving or just snorkeling in many good points along the island’s coastline. The closest point for me it’s the galheta beach, right side headland. The beach belongs the Galheta municipal park, a nature preserved area, popular with nudism.
Me and my dive buddy felt the water would be clear enough to have fun so we carried our gear till the starting point, put it on and begun our marine discovery. For about an hour I saw lots of fish, all with different sizes, shapes and colors. After that I went to the neighboring Mole beach to rest. I found a good spot in the shade and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery in front of me.
The beach is not as crowded as it used to be 2 weeks ago. Most of the students in vacancy returned to school. The summer season stats point down but the coming soon Carnaval- starting on the 25th February and ending on March 1st - will give tourism a boost.
Great beach day. A simple and rewarding activity in the morning followed by what locals say “pegar uma praia” , meaning literally take a beach: going to the beach just to relax, socialize and get a sun tan.
